Moytherm Batts for Cavity Walls

Moytherm Batts are lightweight, semi-rigid batts of glasswool bonded with a water repellent binder.

These Batts provide a reliable and cost-effective method of insulating new brick work, block or masonry cavity walls.

Building Specification

Moytherm Batts are specifically designed for both Full Fill and Partial Fill Applications.

Agreement Certificates

Approval has been granted by the Agrément Board for the use of Moytherm products in a full fill or partial fill construction system as per Agrément Cert. Nos. 94/0001 and 94/0002 in any exposed zone up to and including 12m in height. Above 12m criteria specified in the IAB Certificate must be adhered to.

Partial Fill Specification

Moytherm Batts will be located in the cavity of all masonry cavity walls. (Cavity width to be decided by specifier). Insulation to be returned agianst the cavity face of the inner leaf of masonry by means of insulation retaining wall ties. Wall ties to be at 450 centres vertically and 600mm horizontally.

Typical Construction

In accordance with IAB certificate No. 94/0001. 102mm facing brick, 50mm retained cavity; Moytherm cavity wall slab, retained against inner block leaf by wall ties with retaining discs; 13mm lightweight Gypsum plaster finish.

Brick 1,700 kg/m3, Block 2,000 kg/m3

Full Fill Specification

Typical Construction:

In accordance with IAB certificate No. 94/0002. 100mm concrete block with 19mm external render, cavity fully filled with Moytherm Full Fill cavity wall slab; block inner leaf with 13mm lightweight Gypsum plaster finish.
