Moy Isover Sarking Batts are high quality lightweight insulating Batts, manufactured from mineral wool. This sarking batt has been developed specifically for use in ceilings following the pitch of the roof and enclosing a habitable space, thus servicing the market of attic conversions and new dormer bungalow construction.
They are also particularly useful for timber-framed buildings, acoustic insulation in partitioning and over suspended ceilings.
The complete area of the top floor ceiling is to be insulated with Moy Isover Roll of a thickness of 200mm. Insulation of a width appropriate to the joist spacing to be laid between the joists and to finish over wall plate on external walls. All end joists to be close butted. Maintain a minimum 50mm Airspace between insulation and sarking-felt at eaves. Cold water tank and pipes to be separately insulated. Do not insulate under the cold water tank.
Domestic Pitches Roofs with a typical construction as follows: 30ºC Pitches Roof, with slates or concrete tiles on timber battens, sarking felt or breather membrane underlay. Moy Plus laid between joists with Gyproc Plasterboard on under side.
* 300mm of Moy Plus is used in roof spaces of special high thermal efficient houses. Leading timber frame home manufacturers use this product.
Moy Isover is widely used for noise control purposes in a variety of applications including lightweight partitions and for sound absorption over suspended ceilings. Acoustic performance depends specifically on the thickness of the material, method of construction and other site factors.
Moy Plus is rot-proof, odourless, non-hygroscopic, does not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi mould or bacteria.
Moy Plus rolls are compression wrapped in Polythene.
A Technical Service is available at Head Office; specialist staff will be pleased to discuss all aspects of insulation with architects, specifiers, builders and other users.
