Moy Isover Cavity Barrier is a product designed to provide a half hour fire cavity barrier in the cavity of timber frame buildings. It can also be used in the cavities of masonry walls. Cavity Barrier/Fire Stop are strips of resilient glasswool wrapped in a flanged, polythene sleeve.
Moy Isover Cavity Barrier is used as a cavity barrier in the external wall cavities of timber-frame buildings by stapling the flanges to the sheeting. It may also be stapled around vents and ducts which provide heat and air access to internal rooms.
The product has been tested against the insulation on integrity criteria of British Standard 476 Part 20F. See Warrington Research Centre Test Report 51878. The material exceeded a 30 minute fire integrity and therefore satisfies the building regulation criteria for cavity barrier.
