The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) conducts financial schemes designed to support energy technologies in the hope that such governmental initiatives will further Ireland's aims to become effective in its domestic energy strategies. In February 2009 the Minister for Energy announced a €100m home insulation grant package. €50m of this is allocated for private homeowners who wish to upgrade their homes. It is a national scheme and all homeowners of dwellings built before 2006 may apply. Landlords and owners of multiple properties may also apply, however they must submit a separate application form for each property.
