Why air tightness matters
Insulation only works if the warm air stays put. Uncontrolled gaps and draughts let heat leak out and cold air in, undermining even the best-insulated building and making it harder to meet Part L of the Building Regulations. A properly sealed, air-tight envelope keeps the heat where it belongs, improves comfort, and — paired with the right ventilation — protects the building’s long-term health.
